Privacy policy
Last updated 23 October 2026.
This policy explains how Jonatan Pedersen ApS handles your personal data when you visit chilleren.com, play one of the games on its own address, such as sudoku.chilleren.com, sign in at id.chilleren.com, or join the leaderboards at game.chilleren.com. We handle personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act.
Who is responsible
Jonatan Pedersen ApS is the controller.

hello@jonatanpedersen.com
Data protection officer
We have not appointed a data protection officer (DPO), because the GDPR does not require one of a company of our size and kind (Article 37). Write to hello@jonatanpedersen.com with any question about your personal data, and Jonatan Pedersen answers himself.
What we process and why
When you visit the site or play
Data: your IP address, the time of your request, the address you asked for, and your browser and operating system.
Purpose: to run the services, find faults, and protect them from abuse, for example by limiting the number of requests and fending off denial-of-service attacks.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in secure and available services (Article 6(1)(f)).
Retention: 30 days at most.
The site and the games also set strictly necessary cookies. The cookie policy describes them.
When you play without signing in
You can play every game without an account. A game in progress lives only in your session on the game's server, tied to a random cookie. We don't know who you are, and we store no game in a database. Once you have solved a puzzle, you can sign in within 30 minutes and take the result to the leaderboard. The session expires after 30 days, and the game goes with it.
When you have an account at id.chilleren.com
Data: your username and your passkeys. We don't ask for your email, your name, or your phone number.
Purpose: to let you sign in in one place and use the same account in every game.
Legal basis: the agreement with you to use the services (Article 6(1)(b)).
Retention: for as long as you have the account.
When you are signed in
Data: your session with its IP address and browser (user agent).
Purpose: to keep you signed in and show you where you are signed in, so you can sign a session out.
Legal basis: the agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in protecting your account (Article 6(1)(f)).
Retention: a session expires after 30 days, and we delete it afterwards.
Your player at game.chilleren.com
The first time you take a result to the leaderboard, we create a player for your account.
Data: the name you chose from the names we suggest, your confirmation that you are 16 or older, your plays with their puzzle, difficulty, times, and results, such as time, moves, and hints, your achievements, and your challenges.
Purpose: to show leaderboards, award achievements, and let you challenge other players.
Legal basis: the agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
Retention: until you delete your player.
The leaderboards are public. They show your player name and your results, but never your username. Names are two words from our own lists, and nobody can write free text to other players.
When you delete your player
On Your page you can delete your player. We then delete your plays, your achievements, your challenges, and your name straight away, and the leaderboards are recalculated. Wherever your name would have appeared, it reads "Deleted player". If you want your account at id.chilleren.com deleted too, write to us, and we delete it and your sessions within 30 days.
When you write to us
Data: your name, your email address, and what you write.
Purpose: to answer you and help you with the services.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering those who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
Retention: for as long as the conversation needs.
We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking, we send no notifications, and we neither profile you nor make automated decisions about you. The leaderboards may leave an implausibly fast result unranked, but that has no other effect on you.
Who receives your data
We don't sell your data. Two processors handle it on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany: the servers and databases that the site, the games, id.chilleren.com, and game.chilleren.com run on.
Simply.com A/S, Denmark: email, when you write to us.
All processing takes place in the EU, and we transfer no personal data to countries outside the EU and the EEA. We disclose data to public authorities only when the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you,
have incorrect data corrected,
have your data deleted,
have the processing restricted,
object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and
receive the data you have given us in a machine-readable format.
Write to hello@jonatanpedersen.com to use your rights. We answer within a month.
Complaints
You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, www.datatilsynet.dk. We would like to hear from you first, so we can try to put it right.
Changes
We update the policy when the way we handle personal data changes, and we change the date at the top each time we do.
